Monday Musical Madness returns with.... ME!

Yep, I'm the new hotness for Monday Musical Madness, unashamedly placing myself among the ranks of previous greats such as Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits and Focus.

OK, so I'm not that good, but I have a new Half Man Half Biscuit vid recorded last night at about 1am. It's "Outbreak of Vitas Gerulaitas", which I think was the first song I ever saw HMHB play live (Oct or Nov '99 at the Mean Fiddler in Harlesden).

I accousticised it a bit, since it's just me and a guitar, and I'm sort of pleased with the result, even if the vocal is a bit ropey.

Chords and lyrics

D                         F#m  G
Tedious people, tiresome town
E                                  A
Under the gaze of the mayoral frown
D                         F#m  G
Always calm with a gentle breeze
E                         A
Tarkus in black vinyl please
D                       F#m
What would you do
           G          B         A                    D   F#m  G   A
If the sexton’s wife from the best-kept village nearby came running
       D        F#m           G       A
With bells round her neck and said
          Em                         A
You’d better move away, tomorrow or today
                 D    F#    G          A
’cause when the owl starts laughing
We will all fall down
                   Em
There’s an outbreak of Vitas Gerulaitis on the way
D           F#m    G
Why it’s Mr Kowalski
E                   A
It was you all along
D               F#m            G
That ski lodge would have been mine
      E                                     A
If it wasn’t for you meddling kids
D                          F#m
But what can you do
                  G              B             A
When your Mum’s in Rampton, bouncing off the walls
And singing “Who’s afraid, of Virginia Wade?”
Em                             A                       D  F#m G A
Why do that today when you can always put it off until tomorrow?
Was our motto
Subsequently engraved on a plaque
As a reminder of the attack
Of Vitas Gerulaitis
We all fall down
We all fall down
We all fall down
We all fall down
Who’s afraid of Virginia Wade?
Who’s afraid of Virginia Wade?
An outbreak of Vitas Gerulaitis
In the town
In the town
In the town
In the town
We all fall down

I'm a little unsure about the F#m, because it might sound better just as an F#, YMMV, feel free to correct me in the comments. The closing section is a mixture of D->A and the main riff D->F#m->G->A, if you know the song, that's the easy bit.
